How I Spent All My Rookie Picks Across My 5 Dynasty Leagues
Yes I am in 5 Dynasty Leagues. 2 are brand new as of this year and I envision joining more in the future because they are just so much fun. I’m just some guy on the internet with dynasty apps and a newsletter- I’m not an expert- so take this article with a grain of salt. I’ll be laughably wrong about some players a year from now but hopefully I’ll hit more than I miss.
Here’s a rundown of how I spent my picks and a few of the trades I made! All of these leagues are PPR/Superflex with half being TE 1.5 PPR.
Draft 1: Put in the Taj Dynasty

I’m coming off a 3rd place finish in this league and my weakness was in the WR room. I also traded away my 1st round pick which was rough. I was ecstatic that Bhayshul Tuten fell to me for my first selection at 2.11 especially because I have Travis Etienne rostered. Etienne was a massive disappointment and I see a world where Tuten takes over as the lead back in Jacksonville next year. We do a manual 3rd round reversal in this league so my next pick was Kyle Williams at 3.01. Sleeper stashed K.Williams deep in the ADP and I was happy to snag the number 2 WR option for the Patriots. Jarquez Hunter was my next pick at 4.04. I believe he beats out Corum for RB2 for the Rams and could cut into Kyren’s workload or at worst be a high end handcuff. At the 4.10 I took Pat Bryant because I think there’s opportunity in the Denver WR room and I like how the offense is ascending
Draft 2: Dynashty League

I went all in during the 2023 season and I won but last year I fizzled out in the playoffs. I’ve started a rebuild and anticipate this season will be a productive struggle. My QBs are Justin Fields and Anthony Richardson so I felt compelled to take Jaxson Dart with my first pick at 1.12. I’m hopeful he can hold his value and start games later this season and be like the Michael Penix of 2025. For my next pick, I took Jack Bech at 2.08. My WR room is shaky and I like Bech’s perceived high floor in the raiders offense. I took Kyle Williams again at 2.11; won’t be the last time you read his name in this writeup. At 3.02 I took Jaylin Noel. He had a dominant combine and analytical profile and i couldn’t pass it up at 3.02. Speaking of dominant analytical profiles I took DJ Giddens at 3.11. He will be a high end handcuff forJonathan Taylor this year and I still think he has 3 down potential. My last pick was Tory Horton who had a high Y/RR in college and he enters a fairly open WR depth chart in Seattle where i think he could become the WR3.
Draft 3: Forever League

This is a 10 team superflex league that just started. We opted for a separate startup and rookie draft. I drew the good fortune of selecting 2nd and I stacked my RB room with Omarion Hampton at 1.02 and RJ Harvey at 2.02. RB was my area to target in the draft and I was ecstatic to address the position with my first two picks. I think RJ Harvey will be a bellcow this season and Hampton will overtake Najee by season end and be a top 5 dynasty RB. At 3.02 I took a shot on Harold Fannin. He was ultra productive in college and I’ve written about his dominance in many prior blogs. In my opinion he has the highest ceiling of any TE not named Warren or Loveland. I took Jaylin Noel at 4.02 because he fell and I liked the value quite a bit.
Draft 4: It’s Fine

This league is an ongoing slow draft that’s turning into a slog. We are through 3 of the 4 rounds, but I’m happy with my haul. I grabbed TreVeyon Henderson at the 1.05 and I’m excited to have a share of the future RB1 in New England. I again grabbed Bhayshul Tuten and was stoked that he again fell to me at 2.11. I grabbed another favorite in Harold Fannin , my favorite high upside rookie TE. My dream scenario at 4.11 would be Brashard Smith or Kyle Monangai.
Draft 5: Maximus Dynasty

I once again found myself with the 1.02 and went with Omarion Hampton. This was a 5 round snaking draft in the startup year of this dynasty league. At the 2.11 I took Kyle Williams after narrowly missing out on Tuten. I shook things up at the 3.02 by panic selecting Tyler Shough. He’s a good pick valuewise just for the sheer fact that his value will go up when he starts and he’s highly likely to start for the struggling Saints. He will be flippable for a 2nd in 2026 at worst; and if he somehow succeeds then all the better. At 4.11 I went with the TE receiving threat Oronde Gadsden. I can see him being the primary TE receiving threat for Justin Herbert and stretching the seam. At the 5.02 i took Jacory Croskey-Merritt mostly because of my distrust of Brian Robinson to dominate snapshare for the Commanders. JCM can beat out an aging Ekeler for the number 2 role and potentially earn snaps on a high powered offense.

I would love to have shares of Ashton Jeanty, Tre Harris or Cam Skattebo but my pick positioning kind of pigeon holed me into taking clusters of my guys at the end/beginning of rounds.
Hope you guys enjoyed the culmination of my weekly posts on rookie drafts! I did use my tool and it helped! But I’m going to shelve it for the time being and work on something for startup and redraft drafts later in the summer.
Stay Amped,
John
